Griffin Marine is a leading provider of marine and industrial services to Defence and commercial operators. Due to continued growth, we are seeking skilled Fitters to join our expanding nationwide team. Our office locations are Perth, Sydney, Cairns, Darwin and Brisbane. Upcoming Projects commencing from April 2026 onwards.
About the Role As a Mechanical Fitter with Griffin Marine, you will be responsible for:
- Performing fitting duties on marine vessels and industrial equipment
- Assembly, installation, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
- Fault finding on various mechanical systems
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Working within permit and isolation systems
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Trade qualification (Cert III or IV) in Mechanical Fitting
- Hands-on fitting experience (marine or defence sector highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of tanks, pumps, plant equipment, diesel generators, and engines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Logical, methodical approach with leadership potential
- Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety
Mandatory Requirements
- OHS Construction Induction White Card
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Must be able to hold and obtain an Australian National Police Clearance
- Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment medical including: Drug & Alcohol screening and Audiometry. Desirable (not essential) EWP | Confined Space | Working at Heights | Dogging | Rigging | Fire Sentry
