Description

You MUST have the right to work in New Zealand. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this role.

Robert Page Marine Services is based right in the heart of the Tauranga Marine Precinct, next door to Vessel Works and just steps from the 350-tonne travel lift. We work on small launches, commercial fishing boats, large ships, and high-end superyachts. If it floats, we work on it.

Our brand-new, purpose-built workshop is loaded with the right gear and backed by a crew who know their stuff. We're growing fast and we need a skilled fitter/welder to come on board.

The Opportunity This is a hands-on, variety-packed role based at our Tauranga workshop. You'll be working across our yard, the Tauranga Marina, Ports of Tauranga, and client sites locally. No two jobs are the same.

Day to day you will be doing:

  • MIG, TIG, and ARC welding across a wide range of applications
  • Welding and fabricating in aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel, from 1mm to 50mm
  • Fabricating and assembling components from technical drawings and specs
  • Using gas cutting, plasma cutting, and arc airing equipment
  • Grinding, finishing, and surface prep to a high standard
  • Working safely and keeping your space tidy and compliant
  • Collaborating with the team to hit deadlines and deliver quality

What You Bring Must haves:

  • Level 4 Trade Qualified (Fitter/Welder or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of solid industry experience
  • Able to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Full NZ Class 1 driver licence AND able to confidently drive a manual vehicle

Good to have (but we will sort the rest):

  • Marine industry experience. Great if you have it, not a dealbreaker if you don't
  • Working at Heights / Confined Spaces & forklift tickets (we will support you to get these if needed)

You as a person:

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and take pride in your mahi
  • A team player who gets on well with people, whether that's crew, contractors, or clients
  • Safety conscious and understand why the rules matter
  • Sharp communicator and good with your time
  • Genuinely keen to keep learning and developing your skills

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on your experience, including time-and-a-half and double-time rates
  • Work on some of the most interesting vessels in the Bay. Variety is the job!
  • Modern, purpose-built workshop with the right gear
  • A supportive, down-to-earth crew who will have your back
  • Real opportunities to upskill. We invest in our people
  • Based in Tauranga's Marine Precinct, a great spot with a strong industry community
