About the Role: Our client is looking for 3 skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitters to join the engineering team at a large-scale, New Zealand-owned meat processing facility in Canterbury. This full-time role offers consistent hours across either day or night shifts and the chance to work in a professional, supportive environment.
You will play a key role in keeping plant equipment running smoothly, minimising downtime, and supporting overall production efficiency. Our client is after a proactive team player with a strong can-do attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to workplace health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on plant machinery.
- Efficiently troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimise downtime.
- Support production with timely maintenance solutions.
- Maintain high health and safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with the trades and engineering team.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant trade qualification in engineering/maintenance OR 3+ years’ proven experience in a similar role.
- Welding experience (TIG, MIG, MMAW).
- Sound knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience with automated plant and machinery.
- Previous experience in food processing or manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Positive, proactive, and reliable approach to daily tasks.
