Maintenance Technician

We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to step into a senior leadership role with a well-established, locally owned farming manufacturing company in Palmerston North. This is an immediate start opportunity offering a temp-to-permanent pathway for the right person who enjoys leading from the front in a production environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading and carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production line equipment
• Fault finding, diagnostics, and breakdown response to minimise downtime
• Working with mechanical systems, sensors, and safety systems
• General fitting, turning, and engineering welding tasks as required
• Supporting continuous improvement and maintenance best practices
• Mentoring and supporting junior maintenance staff where required
• Ensuring all work is completed to health and safety standards

What You Need:

• 5-10 years' maintenance experience, ideally in a production line or factory environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• General fitting and turning experience
• Basic understanding of sensors and safety systems
• General engineering welding skills
• Trade qualification preferred (Fitter Turner, Fitter, Maintenance & Diagnostic), but not essential
• Proven leadership capability or senior-level experience
• Ability to start immediately or at short notice
