Hydraulic Sales and Service Technician

This full-time, permanent role offers guaranteed hours and a variety of work. You’ll work on hydraulic hoses and fittings, provide mobile service, and support general engineering tasks when needed.

You will:

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic hoses, fittings, and assemblies
• Provide on-site service and breakdown support across the Motueka/Tasman region
• Proactively call on customers to maintain and grow Smith Engineering services
• Build strong, long-term relationships with local clients
• Participate in an on-call service roster (extra pay applies)
• Assist with mechanical engineering work in the workshop during downtime

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

We’re looking for a practical, reliable, and customer-focused technician who takes pride in their work and enjoys building strong local relationships.

You’ll bring:

• Proven mechanical or engineering experience, ideally with hydraulics
• Strong fault-finding skills and confidence repairing hydraulic hoses and fittings
• A customer-first, sales-minded approach with the ability to grow opportunities
• Good knowledge of the Motueka / Tasman region
• A full, clean driver’s licence and the ability to work autonomously
• A strong commitment to health and safety and high-quality workmanship
• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster
• A valid NZ work visa or legal right to work in New Zealand
