Te Tūranga /About the Role:
Silver Fern Farms Dargaville are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team who are crucial to keep our production running in a challenging, dynamic food production environment.
Our maintenance team is required to work on a 4 on/4 off 12 hour rotating shift roster, Monday to Sunday with a total of 45 hours minimum a week. The successful applicant will be flexible and happy to adapt to our business needs. Ōu Pūkenga /About You:
Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable production engineering environments would be an advantage, but the key is the ability to work as part of a team, to identify faults and use analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level service to the processing plant. Working as part of a maintenance team, candidates will have good interpersonal skills and an attitude for getting stuck in to get the job done as well as thinking outside of the box - we appreciate and encourage new ideas and thought processes about how we can collaborate across our site to ensure the get to the root cause of issues and fix it right - first time.
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Relevant Trades Qualification (Level 4 Mechanical Diagnostics | Fitter/Turner | Fitter/Welder and L4 Automotive Engineer | Time spent LV/ HD Mechanic)
- Good knowledge of sound engineering principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site - or a passion to learn in this environment.
- Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you.
- Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support
- Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment
- Desire to keep learning and upskill - be this in a leadership scope or dual trading into electrical - refrigeration or even project design.
