Shift Maintenance Engineer

Te Tūranga /About the Role:

Silver Fern Farms Dargaville are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team who are crucial to keep our production running in a challenging, dynamic food production environment.

Our maintenance team is required to work on a 4 on/4 off 12 hour rotating shift roster, Monday to Sunday with a total of 45 hours minimum a week. The successful applicant will be flexible and happy to adapt to our business needs. Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable production engineering environments would be an advantage, but the key is the ability to work as part of a team, to identify faults and use analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level service to the processing plant. Working as part of a maintenance team, candidates will have good interpersonal skills and an attitude for getting stuck in to get the job done as well as thinking outside of the box - we appreciate and encourage new ideas and thought processes about how we can collaborate across our site to ensure the get to the root cause of issues and fix it right - first time.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Relevant Trades Qualification (Level 4 Mechanical Diagnostics | Fitter/Turner | Fitter/Welder and L4 Automotive Engineer | Time spent LV/ HD Mechanic)
• Good knowledge of sound engineering principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site - or a passion to learn in this environment.
• Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you.
• Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support
• Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment
• Desire to keep learning and upskill - be this in a leadership scope or dual trading into electrical - refrigeration or even project design.
