We are on the lookout for experienced Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join a well-established Southland manufacturing site supporting New Zealand's agricultural sector. This is a production-critical plant environment where uptime, safety, and reliability matter. The role suits tradespeople who are confident diagnosing faults, working independently, and contributing to both planned and reactive maintenance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing mechanical faults within a production environment
- Completing planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Fitting, replacing and aligning motors, gearboxes and plant equipment
- Carrying out general fabrication and welding repairs as required
- Supporting continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives
- Working within established safety and compliance systems
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Level 4 or equivalent)
- Strong hands-on experience in plant maintenance
- Competence in fitting, welding and general mechanical repair
- Ability to diagnose issues methodically and minimise rework
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
- SAP or CMMS exposure advantageous
- Sound understanding of health and safety in industrial environments
