Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter looking for your next opportunity? We have a position available at our Eltham plant based on London Street in Eltham. This permanent full-time position will work an average of 42 hours per week, on a rotating roster of two 12 hr days followed by two 12 hr nights. There is overtime required from time to time. The purpose of this role is to assist the wider Engineering team to keep the production process running by installing and maintaining all mechanical equipment on site to a standard that complies with all relevant food safety regulations. We are a fast-paced environment meaning this position will be varied and busy requiring the successful candidate to demonstrate organisational abilities and enthusiasm for a processing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain on site mechanical systems, ensuring safe for use, communicating issues
- Build and install equipment.
- Weld stainless steel to food processing standard (MIG, TIG, ARC)
- Operate milling machine and lathe
- Maintain hydraulic systems.
- Install and maintain water pipe systems, valve work and air systems
- Liaise with Shift Supervisors and processing personnel to ensure all faults are repaired quickly.
- Perform ongoing monitoring of mechanical systems.
- Provide budget estimates for projects.
- Carry out preventive and proactive maintenance inspections.
- Maintain and operate the site mechanical systems to comply with all relevant criteria ensuring the ability of the plant to process within the required regulations.
- Communicate at various levels to achieve above objective.
- Maintain mechanical systems to ensure safety of on site personnel and property.
- Ensure all systems are efficient and running in the best interest of the business.
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Trade qualification in relevant maintenance engineering discipline
- A working knowledge of manufacturing operations in the food industry
- Experience in faultfinding and repair of industrial equipment
- The desire to work with modern technology and systems
- Computer literate
