Maintenance Engineer

We are currently looking to employ a plant maintenance engineer here in Wellington. You will work closely with the site supervisor and plant operator to maintain the crushing and screening plants at the quarry, this will involve determining when maintenance or upgrades are required. As well as the crushing and screening plants, you will also be required to manage or carry out other maintenance tasks around the Quarry. You will have to fix the plant ASAP when break downs occur to ensure that it is running smoothly so Horokiwi can continue to be a main supplier of products for the Wellington region. Communication and organisation skills are a must, as you will have to manage and coordinate other subcontractors to help with the maintenance around the Quarry. To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A full driver’s licence
• An engineering background
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a “roll up your sleeves” approach
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety
• A responsible attitude to alcohol at all times
• Freedom from drugs & disciplined with prescribed medicines.
• Able to cope well when under pressure.
• You must be able to report fit for work each day by managing your lifestyle to meet the job requirements
• You will have to be a reliable person and be able to go the extra mile when required.
