ANZCO Foods Kokiri are looking for a General Maintenance Assistant to join our Engineering team on a full-time permanent basis. This position reports to our Site Engineering Manager. In this position you will provide engineering maintenance support to our Operations function, ensuring all services are operating within food safety standards. The hourly rate will be between $33.00 - $36.00 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with yearly maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Provide support to the Engineers
  • Update the written specifications
  • Ensure the services department complies with all health and safety requirements and NZ laws
  • Liaise with other maintenance staff as required and follow directions
  • Rotation of early/lates

General Health & Safety and compliance Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations, standards, and codes of practises, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (NZ). – This is the comply with Legislation
  • Work in a safe manner that complies with the policies and procedures within the ANZCO Foods Safety Management – This is the comply with Company safety expectations
  • Lead by example and foster a positive approach to change by supporting and motivating colleagues through the transitions.
  • Follow the required systems and procedures when performing high-risk tasks.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate workplace hazards to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and relevant health and safety training.
  • Safely operate tools, lifting equipment, and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition before use.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in all maintenance.
  • Mechanical experience.
  • Able to weld multipurpose.
  • Interest in and progression towards the Meat industry.
  • General understanding of water, compressed air, hydraulic and steam systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • The desire to work with modern technology and systems.
  • Ability to work in a team as an active participating member.
