Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical systems and machinery. You’ll work closely with site supervision and various teams to ensure that all equipment and machinery are installed and maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and dismantle machinery and mechanical components
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
- Operate tools and machinery such as grinders, drilling machines, cutting torches and
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and site policies
- Alignment of pumps, gearboxes, motors
Skills and Experience
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar role (manufacturing, industrial, or related field preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pump alignment,
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift or Heights Certificate (Advantage)
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
