Our Vehicles division manufactures specialised vehicle bodies from traffic management vehicles through to tipper trucks for the civil construction and agricultural industries. Our Machinery team specialises in manufacturing forestry machine guarding packages and works with all the major excavator brands sold in NZ. Whilst our Attachments division supplies mulching, land clearing, demolition, and construction attachments for heavy machinery.

The Opportunity
Junior/Intermediate Draughtsperson
*We are seeking a Junior/Intermediate level Draughtsperson *This is a permanent, full time position with minimum guaranteed hours of 35 hours per week although the normal work week consists of 42.5 hours *Remuneration will be between $27 and $40 per hour dependant on ability and experience *The role is based at our workshop in Rotorua
Key Responsibilities
*Model parts and assemblies for each job based on layout drawings, quotes and specifications *Produce workshop manufacturing drawings (fabrication, folding, profiling and machining) within required timeframes to meet manufacturing deadlines *Produce bills of material and steel cut lists from drawings for procurement *Produce layout drawings from quotes and specifications with input from the Product Managers *Where necessary, liaise with the suppliers to obtain and/or verify design data *At all times, ensure the products being designed are cost-effective and based on sound and best practice engineering principles and are fit for their intended purpose
What You’ll Bring
*A minimum of 3 years’ experience in 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks) and 2D drawing (preferably AutoCAD) *Experience with EPDM (Enterprise Product Data Management) software is advantageous *Be able to produce engineering manufacturing drawings and bills of materials quickly and accurately *Have commenced study towards or already hold a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or an equivalent qualification *Good time management and organisational skills *Able to work as part of a team as well as unsupervised *Excellent numeracy and English, verbal and written communication skills *Some road transport industry and/or forestry equipment industry-related experience would be advantageous *Quality Management systems exposure *Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles *Must have NZ residency or already hold the appropriate visa to enter and work in New Zealand *Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test if requested
