Our Vehicles division builds specialised vehicle bodies from traffic management vehicles through to tipper trucks for the civil construction and agricultural industries. Our Machinery team specialises in forestry machine builds/guarding packages and works with all the major excavator brands sold in NZ. Whilst our Attachments division supplies mulching, land clearing, demolition, and construction attachments for heavy machinery.

The Opportunity

• We have multiple positions with an immediate or negotiable start.
• These are permanent, full-time position(s) with a normal work week of 42.5 hours. (Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate)
• The positions are based at our workshop in Rotorua.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricator Welder of our internally designed products for final delivery to the end user.

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Cutting and preparing job lots of steel ready for manufacture.
• Marking and setting out of work pieces in readiness for assembly tack up and full weld out.
• Competence in Mig solid wire welding positions
• Operation of overhead gantry cranes, press brake and guillotine an advantage
• Components and parts are manufactured or fabricated to specification within budgeted time frames.
• Internal and external customers’ expectations are exceeded.
• Plant, equipment, and machinery is kept in a tidy and well-maintained condition
• Work collaboratively to achieve our goals and uphold our standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Trade qualification – National Certificate in Engineering Level 4 or equivalent
• Always work safely and efficiently as part of a team and when unsupervised
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Excellent numeracy and English verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in accurate reading and interpretation of engineering drawings
• Good understanding of general mechanical engineering workshops and their requirements
• Either hold or have the ability to pass the requirements for AS/NZS 2980:2007
• Be willing to learn and support others' learning
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles
• Car and forklift licenses (preferable but not essential)
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test if requested
• Must have NZ Residency or hold a valid work visa
