Deartech Ltd is a leading agricultural engineering and farm machinery company which has been operating in Hawke's Bay for over 50 years. The company designs and manufactures a variety of machines, ranging from specialist machines designed for the Viticultural and Horticultural markets through to “one off” design and build projects, making for and exciting and active work place.
Due to our growing workload we are seeking a Fabrication Engineer who is confident in working with MIG, TIG and stick who can fabricate and assemble machines and componentry from CAD drawings. It is preferred that the candidate is experienced in welding and in the fabrication of machinery and steel structures.
We specialise in very small production runs and one-off bespoke design work so efficient work methods and the ability to remain flexible and open minded are paramount to this position and working within the Deartech company environment.
The key attributes we are looking for is a ‘can do, will do’ attitude, sound judgement and problem solving skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Above all, we are looking for a person unafraid of hard work who enjoys working in a small and dynamic environment where team work and communication are paramount.
The technical skills required for this position:
- Welding with stick, MIG and TIG
- Experience in working with materials such as sheet steel, plate, stainless or alloy
- An eye for quality and a strong sense of pride in their work
- A trade qualification in either Fitting & Welding or Fitting & Turning (or equivalent) with good welding experience
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Good knowledge of workshop systems
- Sound judgement and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication
- Efficient work methods and the ability to be flexible
- Be able to work independently, within a team environment
