Fitter Turner

• $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience

A great opportunity for a skilled Fitter Turner / Mechanical Tradesperson to join a high-performing engineering team. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy variety, and can confidently handle machining, maintenance, and fabrication tasks, this role will suit you well.

About the Role

You'll work across a wide range of machining and mechanical maintenance tasks, including:

• Operating manual lathes, mills, borers, and drill presses
• Precision turning, boring, thread cutting, and producing components to specification
• Stripping, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders
• Light fabrication and MIG welding (TIG experience an advantage)
• Mechanical maintenance on plant and machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors
• Setting up new equipment and interpreting workshop drawings
• Maintaining strong Health & Safety and quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualification in mechanical engineering (Fitter/Turner, Machinist, Welder, Mechanic)
• 5+ years hands-on mechanical maintenance experience
• Strong machining skills and confidence using workshop equipment
• Welding and fabrication experience; ASME 9 exposure a bonus
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• A reliable team player with strong communication and high personal standards
• Class 1 licence required; additional licences/endorsements an advantage
