Are you a high-performing engineering student or recent graduate seeking a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience at a leading global industrial organisation? We are seeking a motivated and capable Engineering Intern or Graduate Engineer to join our client based in Penrose, Auckland.
This role offers exposure to large-scale industrial operations and the opportunity to work alongside senior engineering leaders across projects, maintenance, asset management and safety initiatives.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Business Manager of Engineering NZ, with additional support from Project Managers, Asset Managers and Maintenance Managers, you will play a key role in supporting engineering improvement initiatives across the client's operations.
This position is designed to support the next generation of engineers, promote diversity within the engineering discipline, and provide real-world experience within one of New Zealand's largest industrial businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering improvement projects across operations
- Assist with maintenance and asset optimisation initiatives
- Contribute to safety and compliance projects
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams
- Provide analytical and technical support across business units
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates studying or who have recently graduated in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical & Materials Engineering
- Engineering Science
- Biomedical Engineering
We are seeking:
- 4th-year engineering students, or
- Recent graduates within their first-year post-graduation
- Candidates able to work from our Penrose site (full driver's license and ability to travel required)
Availability Requirements:
- Students: Minimum 20 hours per week (flexible around class schedules during business hours)
- Graduates: Full-time opportunity available under a standard temporary agreement
Remuneration will be aligned to the student or graduate level.
