Fabrication engineer

DS Engineering is looking for a skilled Fabrication Engineer / Fabricator-Welder to join our team in Hawke’s Bay.

This role is suited to someone with strong stainless steel fabrication experience and a broad range of engineering skills. You will be working across a variety of workshop and site-based projects, including stainless steel fabrication, hygienic stainless tube work, carbon steel fabrication, pipework, installation, and general engineering tasks.

The ideal applicant will be confident producing high-quality welds, working from drawings, and completing fabrication work to a high standard. Experience with ASME-quality pipe welding or coded pipe work would be a strong advantage, as would experience in food, beverage, dairy, winery, or other process industries.

Day-to-day work may include TIG welding stainless steel, fabricating and installing hygienic tube and pipework, working with carbon steel, carrying out repairs and modifications, and assisting with site installations. You will need to be practical, accurate, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
