Engineer/Fitter Welder

Central Transport Limited (CTL) is a rural cartage company based between Taupō and Rotorua in Broadlands. We work together with Midlands Rural Transport and Midlands Ground Spread and specialise in all areas of rural cartage including fertiliser spreading, bulk fertiliser cartage, bulk liquid cartage, and livestock cartage. In total, we run a modern fleet of more than 80 trucks. We are a progressive group of companies who seek employees who demonstrate energy and vision in their everyday work.

We require two permanent, full-time Engineers/Fitter Welders to join our dedicated and positive team at our Broadlands depot.

As an Engineer/Fitter Welder, your key responsibilities will be to repair and maintain our trucks to specification and ensure all preventative maintenance work is completed in line with schedules and legal requirements. As part of our team, you will work on a variety of vehicles and work collaboratively to ensure that our fleet is maintained to the highest standards.

The Workshop operates from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. You may also be scheduled to work on alternate Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We guarantee and minimum of 80 hours per fortnight.

We are seeking team members who demonstrate energy, have a willingness to take on challenges and have the following:

• An engineering qualification/certificate at Level 4 or higher or a minimum of 2 years industry experience.
• Ability to weld aluminium and steel.
• Able to work safely and comply with CTL’s health and safety policies and procedures.
• A stable career history and good references.
• Good communication skills.

We pay from $36.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on qualifications/experience.
