Description

Allied Industrial Engineering is seeking a Job Manager to support the planning, coordination and delivery of heavy engineering work at our Kawerau workshop.

This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical trade or engineering background who is looking to develop their job management and commercial skills in a structured, supportive environment. You’ll work closely with senior staff, workshop teams and clients to help ensure jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will assist with managing engineering jobs from estimate through to completion, including planning, coordination and documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with planning and scheduling jobs to ensure smooth workflow through the workshop
  • Preparing job documentation, material lists and task instructions
  • Supporting the estimating and quoting process
  • Tracking job progress, time and materials, and managing variations
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams regarding job status and requirements
  • Working closely with trades to ensure work is delivered safely and to specification
  • Maintaining job management system records and documentation
  • Supporting continuous improvement by capturing learnings from completed jobs

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kawerau (minimum 40 hours per week). Additional hours may be required during shutdowns or peak periods with overtime paid.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn, organised and comfortable working in a practical, industrial environment.

You will ideally bring:

  • A mechanical trade qualification, engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Some exposure to job coordination, estimating or project support
  • An interest in developing job management and commercial skills
  • Clear communication skills and a professional approach
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A calm, practical mindset and willingness to ask questions
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
