Pivot Irrigation Mainline Installer
Our client is a leading specialist in pivot and lateral irrigation installation across the South Island. They focus on the design, installation, modification, and servicing of centre pivot and lateral irrigators of all brands. They are a locally owned business with an excellent reputation who prides itself on expertise, innovation, and long-term service to the farming community.
🔧 Job Description We are seeking a skilled Pivot Irrigation Mainline Installer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation mainlines. This role involves hands-on outdoor work, technical accuracy, and an understanding of irrigation systems. Engineering or welding experience would place you application at an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and repair irrigation mainlines, valves, and associated piping
- Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and schematics
- Dig trenches, assemble piping, and connect mainlines to water sources
- Test systems for leaks, pressure, and proper water flow
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, tidy condition
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate project progress
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and local plumbing/irrigation codes
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in irrigation or plumbing installation preferred
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Physically able to lift heavy materials, dig trenches, and work outdoors in all weather
- Basic understanding of water pressure, flow, and pivot irrigation components
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Engineering or welding experience is desired
