General Manager Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited (NAGHL) – Whakatāne, New Zealand Reports to: Board of Directors

About Us Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited is the commercial arm of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa, responsible for maximising sustainable returns from a diverse portfolio spanning forestry, property, fisheries, tourism and investments. Our work is guided by the values of Kaitiakitanga, Manaakitanga, Kotahitanga, Ngāti Awatanga and Whanaungatanga.

The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead NAGHL’s financial strategy, investment performance and organisational leadership. This pivotal role will deliver on the Board’s strategic direction, safeguarding and growing iwi assets while leading a high-performing team and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

*Lead and execute NAGHL’s investment strategy, identifying and managing opportunities across asset classes.

*Provide strategic financial leadership, analysis, forecasting and risk advice to the Board.

*Oversee accounting, audit, internal controls, budgeting and performance reporting.

*Lead, mentor and develop the NAGHL team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

*Build strong relationships with the Board, TRONA, iwi members, financial partners and advisors, and represent NAGHL externally.

About You

*Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management or related field (postgraduate qualification desirable).

*At least 5+ years’ senior finance experience, including investment management and team leadership.

*Proven ability to develop and implement financial and investment strategies in complex organisations.

*Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

*Understanding of Māori organisations, values and tikanga highly desirable; knowledge of Ngāti Awa rohe an advantage.

*Demonstrates integrity, strategic leadership, resilience and commitment to Ngāti Awa aspirations.
