Regional Manager

House of Science is expanding nationwide, and we are looking for an exceptional Regional Manager to lead service delivery in the central North Island, based in Whanganui.

About Us House of Science empowers teachers to deliver engaging, knowledge-rich science and pūtaiao learning through hands-on resource kits and comprehensive teacher support. Our vision is simple and powerful: every child in New Zealand scientifically literate. Following our nationwide government contract, we are scaling our impact across the country, and our Regional Managers are critical to making this vision a reality.

The Opportunity As Regional Manager you will lead service delivery, school relationships, and team coordination within your region This is a dynamic leadership role combining:

• Relationship management with schools
• Team leadership and coaching
• Operational oversight
• Budget and performance management
• Regional engagement and community presence You’ll be the face of House of Science in your region, ensuring schools receive consistent, high-quality support and kit delivery while maintaining strong local responsiveness.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Build strong partnerships with principals and teachers
• Oversee kit delivery and same-day swap logistics
• Support onboarding, respond to feedback, and ensure excellent service
• Contribute to professional learning events and regional communications
• Lead and performance manage your regional team
• Recruit, coach and grow staff capability
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with House of Science values
• Manage regional budgets and monitor performance
• Analyse demand, booking patterns and kit utilisation
• Oversee inventory, quality control and H&S compliance
• Prepare monthly performance reporting
• Represent House of Science at local science events
• Build partnerships with local science-based organisations

About You We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong relationship-building and customer service skills
• Is an experienced people leader who enjoys mentoring and coaching
• Is confident managing budgets and logistics
• Communicates clearly and professionally
• Is physically capable of lifting and moving kit boxes
• Is positive, adaptable and motivated by educational equity Experience in education, operations, logistics, or community leadership would be advantageous.
