Description
The Matamata Golf Club are looking for a new General Manager. This unique position deals with all aspects of club operations covering the core club administration and course requirements (finance, membership, property, maintenance, staff, regulatory etc).
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a positive relationship with all the Executive Committee and Sub-Committee members
- Developing and maintaining a good relationship with all members and sponsors, including working with all aspects of communication
- Promote the club and its facilities
- Financial management including invoicing, payments, GST, PAYE, preparing financial statements and managing the club to pre-determined budgets
- Applying for grants for capital items
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of successful club tournaments
- Health and safety
The successful applicant will need to be organised, computer literate and have experience with financial accounts. They will have a proven background with dealing with a wide variety of people, with the ability to lead and motivate both the staff and volunteers at the club. And most of all they will be passionate about making the Matamata Golf Club a well-run club with outstanding facilities that is the preferred destination for golfing visitors to Matamata.
As the club runs seven days a week the GM needs to have flexibility with regards to the hours worked, including at least one weekend day each week. They will be required to work a minimum of 37.5 hour per week, as well as ensuring special events and tournaments run effectively.
