Mo te tunga | About the role

Schedulers play a key role in getting people in prison into rehabilitative programmes, education, employment and training. They support all internal and external stakeholders in ensuring the `best fit' is achieved by balancing the needs of the individuals, with the number of activity placements available.

Through the monitoring of waitlists and timely handling of referrals, your flexibility to respond to the ever changing needs of people in prison will be paramount to their success and yours.

Updating and maintaining data in key systems is a core part of this role, as is liaising with other departments to ensure opportunities are maximised and offender plans are managed effectively.

This role is currently available as a part time (0.5) position based at Rolleston Prison, there is some flexibility available with working hours and this will be discussed further.

We are looking for someone who loves processes and procedures, you will have advanced Excel skills and be able to easily learn new programmes and systems.

It is essential to have excellent time management skills and a good sense of humour!

This will be a busy role and some of the key skills we are seeking are:

  • Communicating effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Prioritising and managing your time to meet deadlines and complete tasks
  • Understanding and interpreting legislation and procedures
  • Working autonomously and independently as is needed
  • Collaborating with others and contributing as a team player
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key departments/agencies/coordinators

The salary for this role is $85,666 per annum (pro rata)
