Tasman District Council
Climate and lifestyle are two of the major factors for people choosing to live and work in the Tasman District.
At the Tasman District Council, we live and breathe our vision, mission and values. We want the Tasman District to be a thriving, vibrant, interactive community where people enjoy a wonderful lifestyle and the natural environment is well cared for. We want to live in a place where we all live and work sustainably, with employment opportunities for everyone, and where residents and visitors can enjoy the stunning natural beauty of our District.
If you love the sunshine and the great outdoors, the Tasman District provides plenty of opportunity for you. From tramping, mountaineering, camping and hunting, through to horse trekking, boating and fishing, you name it, it can be done in Tasman. We also have some of the top mountain bike tracks in the country at your disposal.
With three national parks – Abel Tasman, Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes, and Tasman's Great Taste Trail on your doorstep, there’s plenty of opportunity to explore the best parts of the region. If the outdoors aren’t for you, you can sit back and relax at one of the many great restaurants, wineries, cafes, breweries and bars in the region.
We are a great organisation to work for, passionate about what we do, and full of people who want to make a positive difference. You’ll work with nationally and internationally recognised leaders in many different professions.
As one of the five unitary councils in New Zealand, we combine the work and obligations of a regional council and a district council in one institution. This enables an end-to-end decision-making and project management process.
We have an attractive range of benefits that you're entitled to by joining our team.
We are all one team, working together and sharing our knowledge every step of the way – come and join us!
