The practice will be located at a high-profile corner site on Main North Road, Papanui, Christchurch, and is currently undergoing a modern, purpose-built fit-out, incorporating attractive consulting rooms and extensive staff facilities. As we prepare to open in the coming months, we are seeking a Medical Receptionist/Administrator who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient service and enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a growing healthcare service and play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional experience for patients, families, and visitors. As the first point of contact for the practice, you will greet patients, manage appointments, respond to enquiries, process payments, maintain patient records, and provide administrative support to our clinical team. Working closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice while contributing to a positive and caring patient experience.

Who We’re Looking For

You are a professional and patient-focused Medical Receptionist/Administrator who:

• Has previous experience in a reception, administration, customer service, or healthcare setting
• Ideally has experience working in a GP practice, medical centre, health hub, or similar healthcare environment
• Is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive patient experience
• Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, colleagues, and external healthcare providers
• Has excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing patient information and administrative tasks
• Is comfortable working with modern practice management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Understands the importance of confidentiality, privacy, and professionalism in a healthcare setting
• Remains calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused when managing patient enquiries and competing demands
• Enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Values teamwork, compassion, and contributing to a positive practice culture
