Description

Make a Difference in Patients' Lives

Here at Eye Surgeons, we're not just treating eyes; we're enhancing lives. We are a leading provider of premium eye care in the Waikato and beyond, specialising in the latest technology for cataract surgery, vision correction, retinal treatments, and eyelid surgery.

We are seeking a dedicated, part-time Patient Care Coordinator to be the welcoming face and essential support for our brand-new Thames clinic. We are committed to bringing world-class ophthalmic services to the local community, eliminating the need for patients to travel out of the region. If you want to be part of a close-knit group of professionals passionate about making a real difference in our patients' vision and quality of life, we want to hear from you!

A Day in the Life

Your week will be a dynamic mix of patient interaction and essential administrative tasks, balancing meaningful connection with clinical flow. Supported by our established Waikato team, your role will involve:

  • Patient Connection: Create a positive first impression by warmly greeting patients at reception, managing incoming calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and ensuring every individual feels comfortable and supported.
  • Clinic Flow: Collaborate with the clinical team to plan efficient schedules and operating lists, coordinate patient appointments, and manage referrals for a seamless patient journey.
  • Administrative Support: Manage billing, process invoices accurately, and handle documentation using Google Workspace and other cloud-based software.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to a supportive, high-energy environment in our brand-new clinic, participating in team meetings and working together to restore vision for the local community.

What We’re Looking For

While experience in a patient-facing role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting, is helpful, it's not essential. We're happy to train the right person!

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for patient care.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive, empathetic, and proactive attitude, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Being a quick learner with attention to detail is crucial.
  • IT and tech savviness is a definite bonus.
  • Proficiency in appointment scheduling software would be advantageous but not essential.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Flexibility & Growth: This is a part-time position with a competitive hourly rate and the exciting opportunity to grow the role as our local Thames practice expands.
  • Development: We invest in our team, providing excellent training and professional advancement opportunities.
  • Supportive Culture: Join a friendly, close-knit team that values collaboration, teamwork, and a positive work-life balance.
  • Meaningful Impact: Make a tangible difference. Each year, our clinics help restore or improve vision for thousands of individuals, helping them see the world in a whole new way.
