Position: Full-time - Pool Support Worker - Horowhenua As a Support Worker in the Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you'll walk alongside people in their day-to-day lives — supporting them to build confidence, make choices, connect with others, and live as independently as possible. Some days that means going for a walk, supporting at appointments, or celebrating a small but powerful win.
As a POOL staff member, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring continuous support by covering gaps due to annual leave and training. While your shift pattern will vary, you'll receive your schedule of 40 hours per fortnight at least six weeks in advance. Flexibility is key for this role, as you must be available to work both AM and PM shifts, weekdays, and weekends. This role would suit someone living in Horowhenua.
Skills and Experience:
- A Passion for People: Be patient, friendly, and kind, with the ability to understand, communicate, and genuinely connect with people
- Experience: Must have 12 months minimum experience working in the Health Sector
- Empathy & Understanding: An understanding of Enabling Good Lives principles.
- Team Player: Professional, honest, and a reliable team-player with a flexible mindset.
- Driver Licence: A Full NZ Driver Licence is essential, as driving a MASH van will be part of your role.
- Vehicle: Must have own car with current registration and warrant to transport clients, we do reimburse for mileage
- Relevant Qualification (or commitment to obtain): A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or a commitment to working towards this qualification, which will be funded by MASH Trust.
