Senior Caregiver - Dementia

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Jean Sandel Retirement Village in New Plymouth as a Caregiver in our Special Care Unit. This position will be working with our lovely residents who need an experienced and reliable person with a passion for dementia care.

We have a Senior Caregiver, Full time position available working Tuesday, Wednesday 2300 - 0700 and Thursday, Friday, Saturday 2245 - 0715 - 39 hours per week.

In this role you will:

• Oversee residents providing activities to engage them
• Follow our resident's individual care plans, providing care that would be good enough for your own mum, dad, nana or poppaEngage with our residents and developing lasting relationships with them and their families
• Use the latest technology - including our own purpose-built care app myRyman
• Take time to learn about each and every resident, their background, what's makes them happy to help them enjoy life to the fullest

About You

• Dementia care experience
• Strong empathy
• Outstanding communication skills

• A reliable, friendly and professional style
• Have obtained or are willing to complete the Relevant unit standards (or an equivalent qualification as approved by Ryman), within 18 months of their employment commencement date
