    • Permanent, full-time Guaranteed 30 hrs Per Week - Rostered Inc Weekends

Life Plus is a leading Healthcare services provider, delivering services throughout New Zealand. To be the best we hire the best, and so we are looking to recruit superstar caregivers for work throughout Auckland, with 14 positions available currently.

RESPONSIBILITIES: You will provide a Personal Care Service to Service Users, to enable them to lead as independent a lifestyle as possible. This will involve a program of personal care and household management that is personalised for each Service User in the form of a Care Plan

Tasks involved include:

  • To maintain an awareness of the Service User's personal needs
  • Dressing and undressing / preparing the Service User for Day Care or trips out.
  • Washing / bathing / showering / shaving / grooming / cleaning teeth.
  • Toileting and all aspects of personal hygiene.
  • Assisting with the use of Aids in Daily Living / Rehabilitation Aids, as required.
  • Helping with rehabilitation programs, as prescribed by Healthcare professionals.
  • Prompting and assisting the Service User to take prescribed medication.
  • Preparation of snacks and meals according to the Service User's likes/dislikes and assisting with feeding, as required.
  • General cleaning duties, to include cleaning/dusting/vacuuming/polishing, Bed-making, etc
  • Shopping (from local stores only) and the preparation of shopping lists and assistance with budgeting.
  • Handling of money for shopping within policy and care plan guidelines
  • Encouragement to maintain independence
  • Ensuring any problems or concerns are referred to appropriately

About you:

  • Minimum of 3 months experience in healthcare / Homecare
  • Level 3 or Level 4 NZQA or willingness to work towards
  • Self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and punctual
  • Good communication skills
  • Caring and sensitive to the needs of others
  • Culturally aware
  • An active team player but also able to work on their own initiative
