Renaissance Group is launching a new residential service, and we are looking for experienced Support Workers to join our founding team.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a service that supports people with complex needs to live meaningful lives, both at home and in their community.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are recruiting for future vacancies with an expected start from May, which may be brought forward.
You will be supporting individuals with complex behavioural and social needs, including dual diagnosis, in a residential setting.
This is a 24 7 service, so availability for the following is essential:
Day shifts Evening shifts Weekend work Sleepover shifts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the safety and wellbeing of individuals at all times, including recognising and responding to any signs of abuse or neglect
- Work effectively with individuals with complex behavioural and social needs, using positive, trauma informed approaches
- Build respectful, trusting relationships that uphold dignity, human rights, and choice
- Promote community participation and social inclusion, supporting individuals to engage in meaningful activities and relationships
- Support structured daily routines and independence, including skill development and goal achievement
- Provide personal care including showering, dressing, and hygiene support
- Assist with mobility and safe use of equipment
- Support household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Work collaboratively with families, whānau, and other professionals where required
- Maintain professional standards, including cultural safety and ongoing development of skills and knowledge
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for confident and experienced support workers who understand the demands of residential services and can work positively with people with complex needs.
- Calm, resilient, and able to respond to challenging situations professionally
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Reliable, flexible, and committed
- A genuine passion for supporting others
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience working in a residential disability support setting
- Demonstrated ability to support individuals with complex behavioural and social needs
- Experience supporting community participation and social inclusion
- Level 4 Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent) is preferred
