About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and strength based health professional to join our Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) as a Child Protection Coordinator.
This role is a fixed term, maternity leave cover of up to one year and we are looking for 08-1.0fte. Please state your fte preference when applying in your cover letter.
You will be part of a national Ministry of Health initiative that supports clinicians to understand the importance of routine enquiry and supports clinicians in navigating the complexities and response to family violence and child protection concerns. This role is based at Waitakere Hospital.
About you
You will be strength-based, passionate, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of tamariki, whanau, and the wider community. You bring:
A deep understanding of the dynamics of child abuse and family violence, gained in both hospital and community settings.
Experience in delivering training and supporting clinical teams with empathy and confidence.
Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across services and disciplines.
Previous experience in child protection and family violence intervention is required.
