We are a values-driven organisation, committed to providing respectful supportive care for young people facing various challenges in their lives.
Our Young Parents Development Service works with and supports young parents aged 24 years and under.
We are looking for a Social Worker to join the Young Parents Development Team based at St John of God Waipuna. This vacancy is a permanent part-time position working 20 hours per week.
Preferred applicants will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori and Bi-cultural practice
- Social Work Qualification (Pay Equity for Social Workers applies to this position)
- Experience in building respectful relationships with young parents and their children
- Knowledge of child development and respectful parenting approaches
- Knowledge and experience in working with whānau to support positive outcomes for rangatahi
- Experience working with families in transitional/social housing an advantage
