$23.50 - $29.10 plus Programme Leader allowance

As a Programme Leader in one of our School Holiday Programmes, you will lead a team, dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe, secure and healthy space, where children with intellectual disabilities can spend time during the holidays. Reporting to the Service Coordinator, you will facilitate meaningful activities and support children to engage in a variety of tasks.

Our school holiday programme is all about fun activities in a safe and positive environment. In a collaborative effort, we ensure that all children are catered for and active participation is achieved.

Involved in this role is administration, resource management and the coaching and leading of your team.

This is a fixed term contract covering 3+ consecutive weeks (Monday to Friday - excluding training), which coincide with the Term 4 school holidays (January)

Minimum requirements:

  • A full New Zealand driver's license
  • Able to pass a NZ police check and Oranga Tamariki check
  • Previous experience in caring for children with disabilities - preferred, but not essential
  • The ability to communicate effectively to the people you will support, their families and the team including your manager- you may need to learn a range of communication styles, our people sometimes use tools to communicate.
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop team members, and to troubleshoot
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities and an understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Ability to organise and allocate rosters and handle the booking calendar for attendance.
