Description

We're looking for an experienced, qualified social worker who has experience of working with whanau and rangatahi to join our Wesley team.

This role provides intensive support to whanau who are experience stressors in their lives and may have Oranga Tamariki involvement. Having whanau feel well supported to manage their day to day lives and relationships is a key wellbeing factor. We work closely with Oranga Tamariki, police and Kainga Ora in this space. This role will also have a focus on supporting young wahine in our youthwork space and holding space for them to engage in our activity-based programmes, alongside our skilled male youth workers.

To join our team, you will:

  • be a registered and qualified social worker
  • have experience in working alongside whanau and rangatahi wahine
  • understand the dynamics of family harm and drug and alcohol abuse
  • have an open, can-do attitude and an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, as well as an ability to * work in a multidisciplinary team
  • have a high standard of physical fitness (activity based programmes)
  • have sound computer skills
  • possess a full New Zealand drivers' licence
  • value diversity and equity and be open to growing your knowledge of Matauranga Maori.
