The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi Become a valued member of our team, contributing to our 24-hour housing and recovery service, where you'll provide essential support to a maximum of 16 individuals. As a Support Worker, you'll deliver comprehensive assistance to tangata whai ora throughout the day and into the evening, fostering their well-being and journey towards recovery.
This is a permanent, 40-hour role. You will be working Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 6:30pm, based in Porirua, Wellington.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting activities that are wellbeing focused with our tangata whai ora
- Partnering with agencies (e.g. MSD, employment, housing) alongside tangata whai ora, to support and advocate for great outcomes.
- Completing required documentation, including recording activities and progress as a key worker for our tangata whai ora.
- Developing and supporting tangata whai ora to achieve intentional goals that increase independence and life satisfaction.
- Participating in maintenance activities as required, like supporting tangata whai ora with their vegetable gardens and general site cleanliness and tidiness.
You | Mōu
We are interested to hear from people from all backgrounds and life experiences who demonstrate a caring nature towards others and are prepared to work within a recovery and trauma-informed way.
You will also have the following:
- A current and clean NZ full driver's licence.
- A current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent, or are currently studying towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
