Fixed-term 12 months, Full-time, Porirua - as soon as possible start.
Our 'Mana Whānau' team are seeking a fixed-term, full-time, very experienced kaimahi to join them in providing intensive in-home whānau support in Porirua and Kāpiti. Mana Whānau works with whānau who need intensive support to have their tamariki/rangatahi remain in their care or enable them to return to their care.
Our kaimahi work in the whānau home to:
- Identify and reduce stressors
- Identify and reduce risk

Our Mana Whānau approach is informed by the belief that whānau know what works for them and that with the right support and resources, whānau can raise their children safely. You will be part of a small team that works in partnership with whānau and Oranga Tamariki and does ‘whatever it takes’ to help whānau develop and drive their own solutions.

To join our team, you will:
- Be passionate about best practice in child protection and have proven experience with complex family systems
- Have experience with substance abuse and mental health and know how to work in that space
- Have a "can do" attitude, be a team player, and be available for some early mornings or evenings if required
- Hold a full, clean driver’s licence
- Be highly organised, computer literate, and able to meet administrative deadlines
- Ideally have social work or related experience, training, or qualifications
We can offer you the following:
