He Korowai Aroha is a kaupapa Māori wellbeing service supporting hapū māmā and whānau through pregnancy and the first 2000 days of life. Our mahi is wairua-led, whānau-centred, and grounded in tikanga and mātauranga Māori.

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga has worked alongside whānau across the Kahungunu rohe for over 40 years, delivering kaupapa Māori health and social services that are relational, values-driven, and collaborative.

The roleWe are seeking a Rongoā Practitioner who practises with integrity, aroha, and cultural depth. You will provide rongoā Māori healing, including karakia, mirimiri, and whitiwhiti kōrero, to hapū māmā and their whānau.

This role sits within an integrated service, alongside Social Workers, Counsellors, Support Workers, and the wider organisation to support shared whānau outcomes.

What you bring * Recognised qualifications and/or experience in Rongoā Māori

  • Practice aligned with Tikanga ā Rongoā Standards
  • An understanding of maternity and early years support
  • Strong relationship-building skills with whānau
  • A commitment to whānau-centred, integrated care
  • Cultural competence and alignment with Te Hā o Te Mokopuna model of care
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori health
  • The ability to work well within a team and organisational setting
  • A current, clean Full Driver's Licence
