About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for dynamic Associate Charge Nurse Managers (ACNM) to join our team to support a 6-month Winter Flex initiative, working in the Flex Care Waipapa Ward and Discharge Lounge.

This will be in the former Medical Assessment area which will be temporarily repurposed as an inpatient ward and discharge lounge to increase bed capacity.

As an ACNM, you will play a key leadership role in managing staffing, patient flow, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care. This role will require strong coordination of resources, proactive decision-making, and a focus on delivering patient-centred outcomes during a period of increased demand.

About You

As a senior nursing leader, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in acute medical/inpatient settings with strong operational leadership capability
  • Experience supporting patient flow, staffing coordination, and service delivery in a high-demand environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and support nursing teams to deliver high-quality care
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations and competing priorities
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, quality care, and patient safety
  • A comprehensive understanding of professional nursing practice and staff development

You will be confident in managing resources, supporting your team, and adapting quickly to changing clinical demands to ensure optimal patient outcomes and service delivery.
