About Ashbury Heights Village
Ashbury Heights Village opened in January 2025 and will set the standard for premium retirement living in Maunu, a charming suburb in the southwest of Whangārei. Our new generation lifestyle village will offer breathtaking views and incorporate the latest innovations in healthcare and technology.

About the role – Mō te Tūranga
We are excited to be looking for our next Facility Nurse Manager to lead our team at Ashbury Heights Care Centre. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to step into a growing Care Centre and continue building on the strong foundations already in place.
Since opening our Care Centre, our current Facility Nurse Manager has done an exceptional job of creating a supportive environment centred around clinical excellence, strong operational performance, and teamwork, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to put their own stamp on the role and helping to shape our Care Centre’s continued success.
About you - Ngā Kōrero Mōu
You will share our core values and work effectively with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to think on your feet. You will take pride in leading by example and delivering a consistently high standard of support to our residents.
The right candidate will have:
- A strong understanding of NZ health regulations, audits, and quality requirements.
- Registered Nurse leadership experience in NZ.
- Supervisory experience and team leadership skills.
- Ability to educate and supervise nursing and care staff.
- Drive and dedication to maintain the highest standards of care for residents.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and quality care.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- A professional, friendly, and caring attitude.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office software confident using other database management systems.
- Strong organisational skills in particular the ability to manage rosters, staffing, and day-to-day operations.
- Empathy and the ability to confidently interact with people with credibility, and discretion.
- A sense of humour and a positive outlook is essential.
