KAIKŌKIRI - Well Child Tamariki Ora Nurse 24 - 32 hours per week negotiable | Permanent Role

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference for tamariki and whānau in Wairarapa? At Whaiora, we provide comprehensive health and social services, including a Very Low-Cost Access (VLCA) Medical Centre for Masterton Māori, Pacific peoples, and those who find it challenging to access healthcare.
About the Role: As our Tamariki Ora Nurse, you’ll partner with families, whānau, and caregivers to support children's health and development from birth to three years, laying strong foundations for lifelong wellbeing. Your clinical expertise and cultural sensitivity will be key to empowering whānau and enhancing community health outcomes.
Who We’re Looking For: Essential
- Current Registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- CPR and/or Advanced Life Support Certification
- Genuine motivation to improve local community health outcomes
- Understanding and practical application of Tikanga Māori
- Excellent communication, organisational, and computer skills
- Ability to manage workload independently and maintain confidentiality
- Full, clean driver’s licence
Desirable:
- Postgraduate Certificate in PHC Specialty Nursing Well Child/Tamariki Ora
- Experience in Primary Healthcare, MedTech systems, and Māori health models
- Strong local community networks
