Critical Care Outreach Nurse

About the Role
Applications are invited for nurses to apply for a permanent position on the Critical Care Outreach team. The aim of the Outreach team is to provide early patient assessment and timely intervention for acutely unwell or deteriorating patients. Carrying out the weekend Pain rounds will be included as part of the Outreach role.
The expectation of an Outreach CNS is that they role model expert clinical skills, promote best practice and facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration.
The Outreach team is available to support staff in the inpatient units as well as the emergency department. They will also help in the assessment and management of critically ill patients.
The successful candidate must have:
- Critical care experience preferable Expert on the PDRP and be prepared to work both as a CNS outreach and a staff nurse in ICU/CCU.
- New Zealand Nursing Council registration and current APC
- A relevant post-graduate qualification, or prepared to work towards
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience.
- Minimum 3 years Critical Care experience
- Employment in ICU/CCU in Lakes Rotorua Hospital
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
Presently Critical Care Outreach covers Pm shifts throughout the week and weekend AMs as well as PM shifts. This may progress through to full rostered shifts.
A commitment to the provision of quality care and ongoing education is essential, as is the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
