Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

Part-time (24 hrs), temporary parental leave cover (up to 12 months)

Based in Palmerston North though covers region

About the Role

We have an incredibly exciting opportunity available for practitioners with CAMHS or like for like experience.

Our Duty crisis role. One of a small team (alongside the new role of brief intervention worker) will work at the front end of CAMHS ensuring children, young people and their families get a smooth and supportive introduction into our service and compassionate and appropriate care when experiencing a mental health crisis or a severe mental health issue. For this role we require someone preferably with experience in CAMHS, though essentially with experience in mental health and crisis work. Someone who has extraordinary communication skills and can make people feel at ease in their presence.

Hours of work will be 24 hours per week (0.6FTE), with actual hours to be negotiated between Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm.

We need someone who can work autonomously and is a team player, who is flexible, strong in who they are and willing to share and to learn along the way. Sense of humour an absolute must and the ability to enjoy our team.
