Greenlane Clinical Centre (GLCC) and supporting staff across varying sites in the Auckland Region.

The regional Ophthalmology department provides high quality care to patients in the Auckland Region and offers a range of secondary and tertiary services. Whilst primarily based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, we also provide services at various sites across the Auckland Region.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative registered nurse for the role of Nurse Educator Ophthalmology, Surgical Services. In this challenging and rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to further develop your great organisational skills and put your well-grounded clinical practice experience to good use.
In this role you will:
Work collaboratively and innovatively within the Surgical Services teams and will assess and deliver on learning needs. Be joining an established teams providing education for both inpatient and outpatient care. Be expected to be committed to effective; evidence based nursing practice and the development of others in this clinical field.

About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has
A commitment to biculturalism / achieving equitable outcomes for Maori
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Nursing registration with a minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience within Ophthalmology, plus a Level 3 or 4 practice or equivalent on the PDRP pathway A well-grounded clinical practice background working in an ophthalmic setting. Strong leadership and decision making skills with an ability to work autonomously Proven clinical teaching/academic experience and programme development ability. An interest and commitment to education demonstrated in their current practice Is working towards or have completed a post-graduate qualification Has knowledge of nursing professional development issues
