About the role

We have a 0.8 FTE part time, permanent position available for a highly motivated nurse to work as a Nurse Educator.

The Nurse Educator provides and facilitates education programs that are underpinned with evidence, patient safety and have a strong patient and family / whanau focus. The role is responsible for the strategic management of workforce development. The role also contributes to Starship Child Health education development and delivery.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Nurse Educator will join the friendly and supportive multidisciplinary Ward 26A team. Paediatric Neuroservices provides care and treatment to whanau under the neurology, neurosurgery, endocrine, metabolic and rehab teams. The ward is a fast paced and diverse area with an IOA for tamariki requiring a higher level of ward care.

About you

As a Nurse Educator you will have strong communication skills and a passion for child focussed care. You will be able to prioritise multiple demands and manage short and long term projects. You will support the workforce to develop proficient skills in the delivery of quality care and technical expertise.

We are seeking a nurse with:

3 years experience in an acute paediatric nursing setting innovative and creative approaches the ability to manage deadlines sound knowledge of clinical teaching and learning methods an understanding of the professional development programme a post-graduate qualification
