This is a senior nursing opportunity within the largest health district in New Zealand, working in a high-performing cardiology service across two acute hospital sites. About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist- Cardiology to join our energetic cardiology service at Waitemata. In this senior nursing role, you will provide expert clinical leadership, care coordination, and advanced nursing practice to support patients across acute and elective cardiology services. This is a full time, fixed term role for the back filling of a secondment.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and best-practice patient-centred care. This role offers the chance to be innovative, and make a meaningful impact in a growing and evolving service.

About the Team / Service / Location

Waitemata is the largest Health District in New Zealand, with two acute admitting hospitals at North Shore and Waitakere. Our cardiology service delivers high-quality acute and elective care across both sites, with advanced services including CTCA, cardiac MRI, diagnostic angiography, and coronary intervention provided at North Shore Hospital.

About You

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will bring advanced clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You will have:

RN Level 4 or equivalent in specialty with a current professional portfolioAt least 5 years post-registration experience in cardiology nursingA Postgraduate Diploma in Cardiology Nursing, with progress toward a Masters in NursingDemonstrated commitment to quality improvement and service developmentProven care coordination skills and confidence working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

You will be a mature, positive, proactive, and enthusiastic practitioner with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. A patient-focused, inclusive, and team-oriented approach is essential.
