About the Role

Waitemata District seeks a dynamic leader to lead our Surgical Unit at Waitakere Hospital. This is a full time, permanent position.

In this clinical leadership role, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, promoting independence, and driving continuous service improvement. Key responsibilities include effectively utilizing technology, coordinating services, and cultivating a culture of excellence within the team. You should have proven experience in successful change management and demonstrate a dynamic, creative approach to patient care and service delivery. The ability to inspire and bring out the best in your team is essential.

About the Team/Service/ Location

This role is based at Waitakere Hospital. Our Surgical Unit provides elective surgery, acute obstetrics and elective endoscopy services When you join us, you will be part of a compassionate and supportive nursing team devoted to making a real difference in patient outcomes.

About you

To be considered we will need the following:

  • Registered healthcare practitioner (Nursing or Allied Health, Scientific Technical (RCpN, RGON, BHSc) or equivalent
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Post Graduate Diploma (minimum)working towards masters in nursing or equivalent and relevant in leadership and or management
  • A minimum of 5 years post registration experience in Theatres
  • RN Level 4 (Expert), or senior healthcare practitioner with current PDRP or equivalent
  • Experience in clinical professional leadership, especially in maintaining quality or patient care
  • Strong commitment to quality improvement
