About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Outpatients team. This is an advanced nursing role focused on providing expert, evidence-based care to patients with complex vascular conditions while leading and developing nursing practice within the specialty.
As a CNS, you will provide both direct and indirect clinical leadership to improve health outcomes for vascular outpatients. You will act as a key clinical resource, supporting assessment, clinical decision-making, care planning and evaluation, while promoting excellence in documentation and practice standards.
About the Service
The Vascular Outpatients Service provides specialist assessment, treatment planning and ongoing management for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions. The team works closely with vascular surgeons, medical staff, allied health professionals and community providers to ensure safe, coordinated and high-quality care.
Our service is committed to continuous quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and delivering care that is consumer and whanau focused.
About You
You will be an experienced senior nurse with advanced clinical expertise in vascular nursing or a closely related specialty. You will bring strong leadership capability, a commitment to excellence in clinical practice, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current APC
- A minimum of five years' experience in vascular or related specialty nursing
- Advanced nursing skills comparable to senior nurse/expert PDRP level
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to influence nursing practice
- A relevant postgraduate qualification (Postgraduate Diploma minimum), or working towards completion
- A commitment to professional development and maintaining a professional portfolio
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build effective relationships, and a strong patient and whanau focus. You will demonstrate confidence, initiative, and a commitment to improving health outcomes through innovation and evidence-based practice.
