Description

Experienced Registered Nurse - Aged Care. This is a permanent 3 day/ week position. One day will include a weekend day.

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our close knit family who provide personalised care. You will have plenty of variety, with the opportunity to work in our 25 bed hospital as well as our Elmswood Apartments which offer care and assisted living on various shifts.

You will be well supported by the Clinical Manager and management team.

Elmswood Retirement Village consists of a modern 25 bed Hospital which includes ceiling hoists, 31 new Apartments and 66 Villas. We are an innovative privately owned facility that is highly regarded in the industry. We promote inclusiveness and welcome diversity as a culturally safe workplace.

Skills, qualifications and experience required / He pukenga tou:

NZ Registered Nurse with current APC Aged Care Nursing experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Computer confidence

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

Ensure ongoing assessment of resident's care needs/goals, and implement & review resident's written care plan at regular & appropriate intervals. Undertake clinical nursing procedures & skills in a competent & safe way in accordance with best practice. Co-ordinate regular medical reviews with GP or when clinically indicated. Maintain medication competency & meet all legislative & facility requirements. Communicate well with residents, families & healthcare providers and always work in a professional manner. Competency using VCare and 1Chart. Use organisational skills, supervise & monitor care staff to achieve safe nursing practice. Ensure best practice individualised care is provided for residents. Apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to health of Maori. Be familiar with infection control practices, be a role model for IPC Management and assist in implementing Health & Safety Policies.
