About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team on a casual basis.

This role will provide cover across a range of inpatient and community services as required, including Medical, Surgical, ATR (stroke and rehabilitation), Emergency Department, Critical Care, Paediatrics, and Community Health services. The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and able to work across a variety of clinical areas to support service delivery. We have a great team of Occupational Therapists with a wide variety of experience and skills. This job requires working closely with the other Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Therapy Assistants, as well as being a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management, adaptability and communication skills are essential for this role.

The salary for this role starts at: $77,087 pro rata as per the PSA Allied Health Agreement.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Be registered with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board and have a current APC or be eligible to apply for one.
  • Have experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
  • Demonstrate initiative and reliability
  • Have computer skills and be able to competently use basic computer systems required by the hospital. * Enjoy working alongside other MDT members with a transdisciplinary team approach.
  • Able to build strong relationships with the clients and whanau and community networks.
  • Be flexible and willing to learn.
  • Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Physically fit and able to lift (as per patient handling guidelines)
  • Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
  • Hold a Full New Zealand Driver's License
